In World of Warcraft, the Shaman is a very unique and versatile class. What makes the Shaman unique is his various buffs and debuffs from his Totems. You have to give some time and effort if you want to master Shaman leveling, as this is not an easy class to play. You have two options when it comes to leveling: Elemental or Enhancement. Avoid leveling as Restoration. This talent tree is intended only for healing, so it is not very useful in leveling. In this article, we will take a look at the advantages of both Enhancement and Elemental Shaman leveling.

The Elemental Tree

Elemental is the talent tree most favoured by PvP Shamans who want to deal considerable damage. The Elemental Shaman has the most powerful burst damage compared to other classes. Some remarkable talents under this tree include Thunderstorm, which increases your Shaman’s defence and pushes enemies away, aside from having Mana restorative abilities, and Elemental Mastery, which allows your Shaman to instant cast damaging spells such as Lighting Bolt, Chain Lightning and Lava Burst. Playing as Elemental will save your Mana consumption because of valuable talents such as Unrelenting Storm, which regenerates your Mana even while casting, and Elemental Focus, which gives you a Clearcasting effect after you cast any critical damage spell and lessens your Mana consumption for your next spell by 40%. These talents will save you from drinking a lot to restore Mana.

The Enhancement Tree

This talent tree offers a combination of Melee and spell damage output. Some players favor the Enhancement build due to its speed and efficiency. An Enhancement Shaman rarely needs to drink so you will have almost zero downtime. One downside of choosing this Shaman leveling spec is you need to get closer to enemies and this decreases your health and increases damage to your equipment, which makes you spend a bit more. The specialty of this talent tree is the ability to get Dual Wield at Level 40, which speeds up the killing. Remarkable talents under this tree include Thundering Strike and Stormstrike.

Some players say the best way is to level an Elemental Shaman, while others opt to go Enhancement. There is rally no best way and it all depends on the player. Both Elemental and Enhancement builds have positive and negative sides. If you’re the type of Shaman who wants to deal good damage, go for Elemental shaman leveling. If you’re the type who likes healing, check out this Enhancement Shaman guide.
