I can say that the most versatile class in the World of Warcraft is the Shaman. The Shaman combines the abilities of the Rogue, Mage and Priest. Since the Shaman does not specialize, mastering this class is not as easy as other classes. You have to dedicate some time and effort before you can use the Shaman’s versatility to your full advantage. This article will provide you a short overview of the Shaman’s talent trees. I will also share with you an effective Shaman leveling build and a powerful Shaman leveling rotation.

The main roles of the Shaman are buffing and healing. DPS depends on your Shaman leveling spec. If you want a healing Shaman to support other players, a Resto Shaman guide would really help, although I don’t really recommend Restoration in leveling due to its very low damage output. You basically have two options if your main objective is leveling: Elemental and Enhancement. The Elemental talent tree focuses on abilities that have very high burst damage. The Enhancement talent tree on the other hand gives your Shaman dual wielding abilities that greatly boost your Melee damage.

Go for Elemental Shaman leveling, its by far the best spec for your Shaman. I would like to share with you my best spec from my three year experience as a Shaman.

Enhancement Talents: Ancestral Knowledge 5/5, Thundering Strikes 5/5, Elemental Weapons 3/3, Shamanistic Focus 1/1

If you want to get most of this Shaman leveling rotation, try this effective Shaman spell rotation that I swear by. It’s a very simple rotation: Just spam Lightning Bolt to kill your targets dead. Once you reach Level 75, you can obtain Lava Burst. At this point, follow this shaman leveling  rotation: Flame Shock > Lava Burst > Spam Lightning Bolt.

In conclusion, if you want the fastest and most effective Shaman leveling build, I highly suggest that you stick to Elemental and try the rotation above.
